2007 Chevy Silverado SS is in my cross hairs.....gonna take a look at it when I get a chance. It has every option available, sadly it is AWD, but I will live with it if I get it, anyone know the issues that occur on these? They seem like decent trucks.

5.3? Sometimes noisy lifters. Otherwise pretty durable. Change the transfer case fluid regularly, especially if it uses "AutoTrak-II" so it doesn't shudder at you.

edit - oh, SS? 6.0? (same engine, basically)

You can do a conversion, but it is too time consuming.

My dad almost got an SS instead of his lifted one, but he didn't want the full time AWD. The 6.0 almost sold him on it though, I wish it would have.

the amount of dead I would be is too much of a risk.

I had someone tell me that a Corolla is a terrible track car.... I built mine up and proved them wrong on that.

Then people told me my Cobalt would never be fast....

I wish it was RWD....the AWD is a turn off.....but I need something with 4 doors and I prefer a truck bed

They had a Subarui Baja, but it wasn't manual or Turbo.

Lightning isn't a 4 door truck, I need that
Raptor is outside my price range
And the SRT 10 doesn't really turn me on.... I may look for some, but I predict they will be out of my range.

I had a Crown Vic, two actually before the cobalt, and a Cougar with a terminator Cobra swap....and a few other little toys with V8s

I miss the feel of it.

I wish I hopped on the WS6, it was cheaper, easier to maintain, but I looked at gas mileage, not cost of ownership....

That being said, I do have to uh.....err....reserve myself on this one? Last time I "reserved" myself when owning a car I made something like 700whp.....so....

But seriously, this will be a family hauler and stuff, so it has to be a decent ride, I may do an exhaust but it has to be fairly quiet, along with not bat shit insane power.

with 2 kids, i understand the need for 4 doors, but I love the lightning. I'm not a huge Dodge fan, but i'd take a Ram with a Viper engine. I'd go for the Raptor but yea $$$$$

I can get a raptor at or under invoice, but I'm limitedto around 20 thousand dollars.

Which is why I'ml ooking at the SS Silverado haha

The Dodge Viper Ram is kind of a common tihng here....same with the Raptor.....
